Some Daddy-Daughter Time

Kyleigh's favorite thing to do it ride her horse. She also loves to jump! This tends to set some people in our family on edge. Though originally Paradise wasn't a jumping horse, he's learning. The amount of time Kyleigh spends reading, researching, training and practicing to ensure success in jumping is astounding.

Last weekend Rick decided it was time to build her some real jumps to use. She's been making do with what is out at the farm but now he was getting serious about it. He and Kyleigh spent two hours at Lowe's getting supplies to build and they came home and worked for 10 hours designing, building and painting! The finished project looks amazing and she's ready now to jump!

The building begins! Ky is not a by-stander. She is involved in every part of this project!
Looking a little like Tom Sawyer
A little more painting

Measuring, and putting it all together
 Drilling and building continued
Fast forward...it's built and in the arena ready for the test - will he jump!?
Not so much! He is used to the crude jumps he's been accustomed to

Eventually she gets him to walk over the jumps - she's incredibly patient

The next day Rick took her back out to jump! He did really well but sadly, I wasn't there to snap pictures of it! Fortunately, there will be more opportunities to capture it!

Don’t Miss

As the saying goes, we miss 100% of the shots we don't take. Sometimes I find I have to be forced to do things and rarely do I regret it...
