Kyleigh's Classical Conversations Challenge class participated in a Mock Trial. Throughout the spring semester they had been researching, working, memorizing and preparing for the trial that would occur in May. As we arrived at the Washington County Courthouse with Judge Jan Dreling and Attorney Tom Janer presiding the class went forward with the Mock Trial.
I was proud and impressed with the maturity and professionalism that each of these 14 year old students exhibited. It was intimidating for them to be in the courthouse with the judge, attorney, a jury and a room full of adults watching as they took part in the mock trial.

Attorney Tom Janer going over some of the 'rules' before they proceed.
Blurry...but Kyleigh on the stand - she really needs to be in Hollywood acting. ;)
The defendant and the team of defense. They didn't get the verdict of not guilty but they won on points.

It was a great experience! Kyleigh learned a great deal and did an outstanding job. She also learned she never wants to be in a courtroom again and no longer desires to be a lawyer!!
