During our lunch break we made a road trip down to see what the crews were working on today. It was another gorgeous day and there was a great deal going on out there. Electric lines and the foundation were on the to-do list today.
I'm a pretty big fan of electricity.
Rick talking over things with the guy working on the foundation. I'm so thankful Rick is a man of details. I am so not. He reminded them that we plan to do stained concrete in the mudroom/laundry room. Apparently, how they smooth it out at this point factors into that later. No problem the guy assured him!
Working on making it all smooth and level
Not sure what they're discussing. Something to do with electricity, the placement of the pole I'm guessin
Great crew and a pretty cool drill! Only took a couple minutes to dig for the pole
Preparing to put the pole in the ground to run the electric line to the street
I think we need to just go ahead and keep a dirt mound on the land somewhere at all times! Who knew the girls would be so drawn to them, but it's clearly a huge source of entertainment! It also serves well as a great viewing spot. Here the girls sat to watch them work on the electric piece of the building puzzle.
Last night the girls coaxed Grandma to get up on the dirt mounds!
Oh, funny of the day. We had to drive the backmile to get onto the highway due to the electric trucks in the street. Preslie had never been that way before but she liked it. As we pulled onto the highway, she was telling us she thought it was a much better way to go. She thought it was also much quicker. She told me she liked going that way - it was a 'long-cut' she said. Too funny.
Tomorrow they will begin framing! What fun - cannot wait!!!
Stay tuned...
